Giving a realistic look to that sketch can be a challenging task.  I will explain how to use Photoshop's painting tools to turn a pencil sketch into a colourful and dynamic Digital Painting. Step 1 Sketch is essential, Draw the character on paper take a snap and take it to the Photoshop. Things can be worked out in rough form ahead of time. Step 2 Now change the blending mode of sketch layer to multiply and take a new layer and carefully  fill the character with a base color using a basic round brush.
