Turn your sketch into Digital Painting using Photoshop.

Sketching out a character illustration can be a lot of fun. Giving a realistic look to that sketch can be a challenging task.

 I will explain how to use Photoshop's painting tools to turn a pencil sketch into a colourful and dynamic Digital Painting.

Step 1

Sketch is essential, Draw the character on paper take a snap and take it to the Photoshop.

Things can be worked out in rough form ahead of time.

Step 2

Now change the blending mode of sketch layer to multiply and take a new layer and carefully 

fill the character with a base color using a basic round brush.

Use pressure-sensitive tablet, the two option marked in the option bar at the top of the image

correspond to pressure control over the brushes, opacity and size.

 

Step 3

We can paint some values with a brighter and darker colors. The texture in the custom brush 

gives the painting a nice classic look.

Step 4

Finally, give details to your painting, if your painting doesn't turn out just like this one,

don't be discouraged. digital painting is something that  takes a lot of practice.
